FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE | 6 MONTH CONTRACT

Forward Engineering (FE) is a trusted partner for holistic and sustainable product development in the automotive and

aerospace industry. The global FE team supports our client partners with comprehensive design, system engineering,

material and process know-how in the field of technical and fiber-reinforced polymers, functional lightweight

construction and CAE-supported multi-material design optimization. Bringing together our global network of material

manufacturers, technology providers and tier suppliers enables the resource efficient and cost-effective

implementation of new and emerging technologies.

YOUR FUNCTIONS

In your work as an intern/working student you will get detailed insights and experiences in engineering projects

together with our industry clients and institute partners. You will support our team with following tasks:

- Methodical concept and product development for lightweight structures with a focus on fiber-reinforced

plastics and technical plastics
- Participation in the area of 3D printing, planning and execution of print jobs in filament printing
- Material and process evaluation, global material and technology scouting
- Calculation of manufacturing costs and accompanying cost engineering
- Eco-balance, consideration of end-of-life strategies, design for recycling, life-cycle analysis
- Close cooperation and coordination with the project team involved, the respective technology partners,

institutes and suppliers worldwide
- Support on internal and external projects
- Presentation of the project results in the project team

YOUR PROFILE
- Passionate about Structural Design Optimization, Electrification and Future Mobility
- You study (Dipl.Ing., M. Sc., M. Eng.) mechanical
- or industrial engineering specializing in product

development, vehicle design, aerospace, plastics technology/ composites or a comparable qualification.
- Very good knowledge of LS-Dyna (or comparable explicit solver)
- Industrial experience in the areas of structural design & CAE is an advantage
- Good knowledge of material behavior and material models of metals and composites is an advantage
- Goal
- and solution-oriented with strong communication skills and know how to motivate your project team
- Fluent in English and German
- Flexibility and willingness to work in international projects
- Experienced and comfortable with discussing and presenting your ideas and project results with the project

team
