Through Co-Power, industrial companies in Germany save up to 50% on their energy costs without having to invest time or money themselves.

Co-Power plans, finances, installs, and operates PV systems and battery storage directly on-site at companies. Businesses benefit from low-cost PV electricity as well as free battery storage capacity for local optimization (e.g., peak load shaving or self-consumption optimization). In return, Co-Power secures the right to install larger battery storage systems and participate in electricity trading and ancillary service markets.

Our vision goes beyond individual installations - we aim to create a connected industrial energy system where companies can share and optimize their electricity production and flexibility across multiple locations.

Co-Power is backed by leading venture capital funds and family offices. Currently, Co-Power is implementing more than 20 projects for industrial companies and has ambitious growth goals.

**Position: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)**_ (Munich / hybrid)_

As the CTO of Co-Power, you will lead the technological development and implementation of our Virtual Industrial Power Plant. You will define the technical vision, architecture, and development roadmap that ensures a seamless integration of our platform's hardware (battery storage, PV, measurement systems) with software (control algorithms, market optimization, IoT-based asset management).

You will be responsible for building and leading a high-performance tech team, developing scalable energy management systems, and identifying strategic partners and suppliers to accelerate market entry.

We are looking for a hands-on technology leader with experience in hardware, software, and decentralized energy systems to build a the Co-Power VPP.

**Your responsibilities**
- **Tech Strategy & Architecture**: Develop and implement the tech roadmap for Co-Power's Virtual Industrial Power Plant. Responsibility for deciding which components are developed in-house and which are sourced from partners. Ensuring a scalable, modular, and secure architecture that integrates hardware, data processing, and market participation.
- **Platform Development & System Integration**: Develop an energy management platform for aggregating and optimizing decentralized industrial assets. Responsible for the seamless integration of battery storage, PV systems, measurement systems, and industrial automation solutions.
- **Team Leadership & Product Development**: Build and lead a high-performance tech team focused on embedded systems, cloud platforms, and energy trading algorithms. Implement agile development processes to rapidly deploy and scale technology solutions. Work closely with commercial and operational teams to align technology with business objectives.
- **Partnerships & Market Development**: Establish and maintain strategic technology partnerships with hardware manufacturers, grid operators, and trading platforms to ensure interoperability and regulatory compliance. Responsible for market analysis in flexibility markets, energy trading, and industrial energy networks to continuously refine the product strategy.

**Your background**
- **Education**: Completed degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- **Technical Knowledge**: Strong expertise in hardware (energy systems, IoT, control technology) and software (cloud platforms, energy trading platforms, cybersecurity). Experience with decentralized energy systems, Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), or Distributed Energy Resource (DER) management.
- **Strategic & Analytical Thinking**: Ability to develop scalable structures and partnerships to meet growing market demands, along with a talent for solving complex operational challenges.
