Your working field
From adelphi consult’s Berlin headquarters, our Business Development coordinates proposals for strategy consulting and technical assistance projects funded by donors worldwide. Jointly with our partner SEEK Development, we are hiring a Business Development Specialist to strengthen our team. Your role will be to identify new business opportunities and coordinate the preparation of proposals for both adelphi and SEEK. You will focus on our philanthropic and international cooperation clients including international foundations, United Nations programmes, thematic alliances and global funds.
We offer a full-time position and a fixed-term contract for a period of 2 years, with a perspective towards extension.

Your tasks
- Identify relevant project opportunities with our philanthropic and international cooperation clients, focusing on strategy consulting opportunities and large technical assistance projects on topics including health, education, food and climate
- Create and manage schedules for proposal preparation and organize regular progress meetings with the bidding team, ensuring all tasks are completed on time
- Assist the development of our proposals, focusing on drafting proposal texts and preparing our qualifications
- Identify relevant partner organisations and experts to cooperate with adelphi & SEEK
- Negotiate terms and conditions with experts and assist in negotiations with partners
- Support the management of relationships with key partners and experts

Your qualifications
- At least two years of professional experience in international projects
- Experience in business development for international donors, especially the day-to-day management of proposals
- Familiarity with international cooperation funding mechanisms and the procurement processes of international cooperation actors
- Knowledge of working with philanthropic clients and on strategy consulting will be considered strong assets
- Analytical skills to assess call for tender requirements and develop competitive proposals
- Strong communication skills, good team player, together with the ability to work independently and efficiently
- Educational background: University Degree, preferably Master’s level in a relevant field
- Proficiency in English (writing and speaking), knowledge of other EU languages is an asset
- Ability to work in Germany, with our preference being a person based in or willing to relocate to Berlin
