CMC Markets’ success is founded on its ability to deliver a wide range of trading products to customers, including equities, indices, currencies and commodities. CMC Markets has pioneered the development of online trading in markets around the world and has offices in 11 countries.

The global Legal Team currently consists of regional Heads of Legal, Senior Legal Counsel lawyers, Legal Counsel lawyers and Paralegals.
- Key Responsibilities
- General- Advise on all legal and regulatory aspects of CMC’s business in Germany and Europe.- Provide legal support to regional CMC offices in Europe; assist with the expansion of CMC’s global businesses and cross-border considerations, such as new office openings.- Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts (e.g. CMC’s client facing terms of business; IT contracts; marketing contracts; outsourcing contracts; market data agreements; a range of institutional / partners agreements; prime brokerage documents (including ISDAs)).- Manage legal disputes and deal with complaints and litigation matters.- Work collaboratively with, and provide legal support to, CMC’s global and local functions such as Compliance, Operations and Finance.- Support the global legal team by making a significant contribution to the provision of a high-quality legal service to the business, monitoring staying abreast of legal and regulatory developments, monitoring legal updates and sharing relevant information within the global legal team,

Principal Accountabilities- Deliver high-quality legal advice and support to the business.- Ensure that legal risk is mitigated to the fullest extent possible and that legal issues are at all times addressed in accordance with best practice.- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.- Manage external advisers to best effect, keeping costs to a minimum without compromising the quality of legal advice received.- Have a thorough understanding of the financial services industry and the issues and legal developments that relate to CMC’s business globally and in Europe.

Key Skills and Experience- Lawyer qualified in Germany (_Rechtsanwalt_) or another EU jurisdiction; familiarity with the laws of another European jurisdiction is a plus. The role will be based in Frankfurt.- Strong academic record and experience working in a fast-paced environment; ideally in the financial services sector.- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate complex legal issues in a concise manner. Additional foreign language skills would be an advantage.- Proven organisation, analytical and negotiation skills.- Ability to work well autonomously and as part of the team, assuming managerial responsibilities where appropriate. Fluency in English and German is a must; additional foreign language skills would be an advantage.
