**Team mission**:
As a General Ledger Lead at GetYourGuide, you'll play a vital role in our Accounting Team. Reporting directly to the Head of General Ledger, your mission is clear: maintain top-notch and compliant accounting for the GetYourGuide Group. You'll work diligently to ensure accurate financial reporting, adhere to corporate policies and accounting standards, and provide timely information to our valued internal and external stakeholders.
- Please note: This is a fixed term maternity cover position_

**Your mission**: Leadership: Support the Head of General Ledger to develop the team, enabling them to meet targets and ensuring that they reach their maximum potential.

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly reports and contribute to the annual financial statements for the GetYourGuide international entities.Analytical Expertise: Dive into accounts and statements, delivering meticulous reconciliations according to month-end-close deadlines and on an ad-hoc basis.Ownership and Innovation: Lead accounting-related projects, including Business Process Designs and SAP S4/Hana System development, with a particular focus on automation.Communication Hub: Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external inquiries regarding Accounting and Tax Accounting.Collaborative Partnerships: Collaborate with external stakeholders like auditors, tax consultants and accounting consultants.

**Your toolkit**:

- Educational Foundation: Completed business studies with a focus on accounting or completed commercial vocational training with additional qualifications in the area of financial accounting/balance sheet accounting. Additional training or certification in SAP FICA is highly desirable.
- Financial Experience: A minimum of 7 years in the finance department of a medium-sized company, ideally within the e-commerce sector.
- Team Empowerment: Experience in leading a small accounting team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth, innovation, and efficient teamwork.
- Regulatory Know-How: Strong knowledge of the commercial code, IFRS, good knowledge of German accounting and tax law and confident handling of the HGB guidelines.
- Analytical Skills: Excel in analytical tasks and demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel and SAP. The ability to manage and analyze large sets of data is crucial.
- Language Prowess: Excellent English skills are a must.
