In the III-V Electronics Research Area we are looking for a research staff member / PhD Student.

**Your activities**

In our Research Group “Digital PA Lab” we extend our field to CMOS-based digital transmitter architectures for handsets in a joint project with the mixed-signal group of TU Berlin. On the basis of a patented digital modulation scheme of FBH you will build a closed-loop digital transmitter architecture. You will model the digital transmitter in Matlab and realize the modulator in fixed-point arithmetic to implement its functions as a fully integrated CMOS ASIC. Moreover, you will develop in close collaboration with the project partner the demonstrator module and setup as well as automate the characterization of the novel digital CMOS transmitter for handsets. A set-up and measurement laboratory equipped with modern instrumentation is available for your research

**Your profile**

You should have a university degree with master or diploma in electrical engineering or physics with focus on high frequency technology, microwave technology or analog and digital electronics. Practical experience in digital signal processing and the design of high frequency integrated circuits (MMICs) is desirable. Ability to work in a team and a confident command of the English language are required. The position may be tailored by the scope of duties as a post-doctoral position or may open the possibility for you to pursue a PhD.

**Our offer**

We offer challenging and interdisciplinary work on innovative digital modulation techniques and novel CMOS-based digital transmitter architectures for handsets. Employment, remuneration and social benefits are based on the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD Bund). The position can be filled immediately and is initially limited to two years.
