Aber auch als modernes Unternehmen mit Zertifizierungen im medizinischen, klinischen und im Management-Bereich tritt die Charité hervor. **Stellenbeschreibung**: **Einsatzgebiet**: The research group "Experimental Radiology" is involved in characterizing the pathologically altered extracellular matrix of the heart and arteries in a model of uremic cardiomyopathy as part of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1340 "Matrix in Vision". As part of the CRC research network, we produce iron oxide nanoparticles for MRI imaging, develop in vitro models in cell culture and in vivo models for the translation of our research questions. We mainly perform molecular biological, biochemical and histological studies to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms responsible for the pathological changes in the extracellular matrix and how these are visible in the MRI image. **Aufgabengebiet**: - In our open-minded, cooperative team, we offer you a diverse and interesting research position, autonomous participation in the scientific projects of the research group, and a broad spectrum of established methods. - We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student to join the CRC 1340 "Matrix in Vision" project B03 to study the changes in the extracellular matrix, in particular of the gylcosaminoglycans, caused by derailed homeostasis of phosphate metabolism. - Your main tasks will be: - In vitro studies in cell and tissue cultures to develop a model with the desired glycosaminoglycans. - Development, implementation and evaluation of an appropriate animal model for uremic cardiomyopathy. - Characterization of an in vivo model of uremic cardiomyopathy with a focus on HFpEF (heart failure with preserved ejection fraction) and evaluation of an oral therapy of the derailed phosphate metabolism. - We offer multidisciplinary supervision by basic researchers and clinical scientists. The CRC 1340 includes scientific research groups from various university and non-university research institutions, in particular the Charité as a reputed university hospital with Europe's largest radiology department.
