**Our Profile**:
The Institute for Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics focuses on the human-compatible design and optimization of work systems in development, production, and service. In the Ergonomics and Human-Machine Systems department, we research on different scientific perspectives that allow for an integrated evaluation, and optimization of complex and dynamic socio-technical systems, where the focus is on people and the existing interactions with technical actors and systems.

At our institute student assistants actively contribute to our research projects and institute works. As part of an ongoing industry project, you will deal with physiological measurement methods used for ergonomic analysis and evaluation in workplace and product design.

**Your Profile**:

- Interest in the topics of robotics and man-machine interactions.
- Study background: Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar.
- Fluent in German and good English language proficiency.
- Willingness to work, flexibility in terms of time, and independence.
- Confident use of programming languages (Python/C++) and experience with Machine Learning (ML) algorithms would be an advantage.
- Interested in long-term employment.
- Ideally experienced with robotic systems, RGB-D cameras, Laser/LiDAR scanners, and statistical data analysis.

**Your Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Active participation in exciting industrial and research projects.
- Preparation and evaluation of experimental studies.
- Assistance with implementation of mathematical models for optimization, and prediction tasks.
- Structuring and documentation of results.

**What We Offer**:
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term up to September 30, 2026.
After the initial fixed-term contract, the aim is to find a long-term possible employment.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 10 hours.
It is possible to adjust the number of working hours per week.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 14.50 € per hour.
