As the Team Lead Backend Engineering (M/F/d) you will lead a team of backend and full stack engineers. You will guide the team in making the best architecture and design decisions helping the product owners of the Delivery Platform department in developing high-end products and supporting sonnen to scale.

**What you will do to drive the energy transition**:

- Guide and support the software engineers in your team to become top performers and help them unlock their challenges.
- Oversee hiring and growth of the software engineering team as well as people development and career paths of the individuals in your team.
- Coach your team to raise quality and improve outcome, technical alignment and technical growth to iterate fast.
- Take an active part in ensuring the quality of the software engineering process.
- Advise on architectural design standards and on acting according to the ideas and principles of agile software engineering.
- Lead the engineers to maximize the collaboration of the engineers within and beyond Delivery Platform.
- Work closely together with your disciplinary lead, the VP Delivery Platform, as well as the product owners, scrum masters and other team leads of Delivery Platform.

**What you will need on that journey**:

- You are an experienced leader for the engineering team, who has excellent communication skills to support people grow their technical skills by mentoring and coaching.
- You have a strong and proven track record of developing software, preferably with Python, Django, AWS Lambda, Terraform, PostgreSQL, Sentry, GitLab and/or GitHub.
- You have a solid understanding of microservices, clean code, and clean software architecture.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You speak English fluently; further languages are beneficial.
- You enjoy working in an international environment with a highly motivated and visionary team that is striving to digitize the energy transition.
