As the **Team Lead Backend Engineering**, you will lead a team of backend engineers. You will guide the team in making the best architecture and design decisions for their products to help sonnen scale.

**What you'll do to drive energy transition**:

- Guide and support the backend and API engineers in your team to become better engineers and help them unlock their challenges.
- Oversee hiring and growth of the team.
- Coach your team to raise quality and improve outcome, technical alignment and technical growth to iterate fast.
- Advise on architectural decisions.
- Get invovled in solving bugs, quality issues and code reviews.
- Lead the implementation and adoption of the engineering processes to maximize the collaboration between your team and other teams.
- Work closely together with your disciplinary lead, the VP Customer Experience Development, as well as the team leads of the product, backend and creative teams.

**What you'll need on that journey**:

- Experienced tech lead for backend engineering teams, who has very good communication skills to support people grow their technical skills by mentoring and coaching.
- You have a strong track record of developing backend and API services with Node.JS, Rest, Ruby, JSON-API, Graph QL using AWS, Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub among others.
- Good understanding of microservices, clean code, clean software architecture as well as event-driven, and functional and reactive programming.
- You have led and owned development of backend and API services with a large code base for 5 years.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You enjoy working in an international environment with a highly motivated and visionary team that is striving to digitise the energy transition.
- You speak English fluently, further languages are beneficial.
