We are looking for an inspiring and talented Head for our Finance Compliance & Risk team based in Berlin. As Head of Finance Compliance & Risk you will hold the oversight role for all financial compliance, governance and risk management processes. Lead a competence center to keep Finance effective and compliant in a fast-changing environment. You help build and maintain our Internal Control System and advise and support your colleagues in compliance and risk matters.

**WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)**:

- Own the strategic agenda on compliance matters for Finance
- Hold the overall responsibility for the system of internal controls over financial and non-financial (ESG) reporting throughout the Zalando Group, including Company-Level Controls and IT General Controls
- Build and maintain the relationship to all process and control owners throughout Zalando, including but not limited to Finance, Sustainability, D&I, Zalando Technology Foundation (ZTF), Corporate Compliance, Governance & Risk, and Internal Audit
- Educate risk owners and functional leads on methodology, implementation, review and documentation of internal controls
- Be responsible for all compliance, governance and risk management within Finance, while the execution of operational compliance processes rests with the respective other functions
- Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the system of internal controls over financial reporting and non-financial (ESG) reporting, including Company-Level Controls and IT General Controls
- Ensure prioritisation and delivery of all compliance-related improvements throughout Finance
- Be the main contact for all Finance functions on compliance enablement and communication

**WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF**:

- You have at least 12 years of experience in Finance compliance management (e.g., SOX 404, Internal Controls, Internal Audit) as a consultant, ideally supplemented by a corresponding in-house role
- You bring very good knowledge of the provisions of section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act or comparable regulations as well as relevant standards like IDW PS 982, COSO 2013
- You have experience in using technology and automation to drive scale, effectiveness and efficiency in compliance
- You have convincing communication skills to enable active collaboration across various teams and diverse professional backgrounds
- You have a hands-on, collaborative, and results-oriented mentality
- You are comfortable in holding conclusive discussions with senior stakeholders and solve their problems
- You can work across hierarchies, influence stakeholders, and drive a solid compliance culture
- You are fluent in English, fluency in German is an additional asset
- You have experience in the use of tools such as Signavio and S/4Hana (desirable but not required)
