Head of Operations

FreewayCamper is a young startup based in Munich, which has set itself the goal of driving the digitalization of the camping market. Currently we are concentrating on the smart digital rental of a wide range of different campers and additional services with focus on the individual needs of our customers and a first-class service. Even the booking of campsites is already possible at FreewayCamper. With our individual and high-end products, the development of a strong brand, a smart digital strategy as well as the development and digitalization of further business areas we will revolutionize the camping market.

For this exciting and ambitious goal, we are looking for highly engaged support through a Head of Operations (M/F/d).

Tasks

Take ownership of the operational vision and translate it into tangible KPIs for your teams while enabling them to succeed; scope of operations domain involves:

- stations development and ongoing stations management (own and franchise),
- quality assurance & compliance,
- supply management (incl. fleet and capacity management, transfers, maintenance etc.),
- customer experience (incl. development and ongoing operations of Customer Service),
- vehicle sales (incl. commercial steering),
- operational performance management incl. data analytics, KPI setting and monitoring,
- strategic project management incl. automation (cooperation with IT to develop scalable solutions for growth),
- business expansion (international and/or local)

Manage FreewayCamper product portfolio and prepare all functions for future growth:

- Streamline and standardize all global processes,
- Work closely with the leadership of the company and across various teams in order to define the long-term strategy,
- Develop an understanding of our business strategy and customer needs to create and maintain an ambitious and actionable Ops roadmap,

Be a skilled and visionary leader supervising a multi-national team:

- Supervise and coach a team of Regional, Fleet, Vehicle Sales, Customer Experience, Analytics & Development Managers across 5 countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Poland),
- Prepare scalable setup for further international expansion,

Own operational budgets and provide management reports, dashboards and forecasts

**Requirements**:

- Practical experience with large-scale operations management (min 6 years of working experience, of which 3 years in leadership roles) - please specify the scale of operations, and leadership span in your CV,
- Track record of setting-up and managing multi-national teams, ideally in fast-growing organizations or start-ups,
- Degree in transport, electrical or mechanical engineering, logistics, tourism, management, economics or similar from top universities (Masters, PhD or MBA),
- Ambitious and structured self-starter combining visionary thinking, passion, a strategic mindset and strong leadership skills,
- Business acumen, understanding business flows and commercial side of operations,
- Strong ability to make things happen, successfully solving multiple parallel challenges,
- Full working proficiency in English is required, additional language skills are a plus (German, Italian, Polish, French Spanish in particular),
- Category B driving license and willingness to travel for business if needed (max. 10-25% of working time depending on the season)
