At the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Natural Sciences I, Institute of Biochemistry and

Biotechnology, Department of Microbial Biotechnology is seeking to fill the temporary position in a DFG

projekt associated to the CRC1664 as a

Research Assistant (M/F/d)

The position (65% part time) will start on 01.04.2025 and is yet funded until 31.03.2026 (extension possible).

The salary will be up to Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L, if the personal requirements and tasks are fulfilled.

**Tasks**:

- Characterization of proteoforms of an antiviral protein involved in the plant’s RNA silencing immune response
- Characterization of transgenic plant lines expressing different variants of the protein
- Collection, systematisation and evaluation of scientific publications on the topic (literature research/database

analysis)
- Preparation and presentation of research results at congresses and research colloquia
- Preparation of research reports and publications
- Supervision of laboratory equipment
- The opportunity to obtain your own academic qualification is given

**Requirements**:

- Experience in molecular biology and studies with plants
- Experience in at least one of the following areas is an advantage: Protein Biochemistry; qRT-PCR; _in vitro _

transcription/translation, fungal cultivation and plant inoculation, plants handling and growth
- Good command of English and German language
- High level of motivation and ability to work in a team
