Research Assistant Mems Development

At Fraunhofer-Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS, we work at the highest international level on nanoelectronic, mechanical and optical components and their integration into tiny, "intelligent" devices and systems. **What you will do** - Development of micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS), especially new kinds of micro mirror arrays and optimization of their performance to meet customer requirements - Analytical modelling and/or simulations of MEMS actuators by finite element tools (FEM): electrostatic forces, structural deformation, eigenfrequencies, damping and transients, impact of fabrication tolerances - Analysis and comparison of theoretical predictions with actual measurement data and deriving improvements for iterated fabrication runs - Simulations of the system optics with the micro mirror array - Participation in innovative and fascinating projects, later propect of project lead **What you bring to the table** - Wide area of knowledge in physical interrelations, especially structural mechanics, electrostatics and (Fourier-) optics - Preferably knowledge in surface MEMS fabrication processes - Preferably experience with FEM simulations, especially regarding MEMS - Creativity and enthusiasm for scientific-technical topics - Good German and English skills - Good skills in MS Windows, MS Office and ideally Linux **What you can expect** We offer you independent tasks with creative freedom for your talents and ideas.
