**The Position**:

***Background**:
The main objective of this doctoral research is to enhance the therapeutic approach of a specific enzyme targeted for treating pulmonary fibrosis. This target enzyme is theoretically associated with numerous substrates, which require experimental validation. Some of these substrates play a role in lung fibrosis and immune homeostasis. The thesis aims to provide a comprehensive, mechanistic understanding of these substrates in their respective biological contexts.

***Tasks ans responsibilities**:

- Analysis, discussion, interpretation, documentation, and presentation of experimental results.Writing of scientific publications and posters and you its representation at scientific conferences.

***Your Profile**:

- Knowledge of biochemistry and cell biology are required, experience with either protein modifications, enzymology and/or immunology are a plus
- Hands-on experience with cell culture (cell lines and primary cells), basic biochemistry assays like e.g. western blots, qPCR, IP are required, methods of immunology or enzymology are a plus
- Dedicated and team-oriented way of working as well as a high willingness to learn and active contribution
- Good knowledge of MS Office, GraphPad Prism is a plusFluency in spoken and written English, German is a plus
