Münster Electrochemical Energy Technology (MEET) is the battery research centre at the University of Münster. It is comprised of an international team of around 130 scientists who are working to research and development innovative electrochemical energy storage devices with higher energy density, longer durability and maximum safety. The aim is to improve batteries for use in electric cars and stationary energy storage systems - at the lowest possible cost. MEET, thus, strives to further enhance the competitiveness of its partners in battery research - in particular, in lithium-ion technology - both regionally and nationally.
The “Cell Systems” department of the MEET Battery Research Centre at the University of Münster is seeking to fill three positions for
Doctoral Research Associates (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in, salary level TV-L E 13, 65%)
at the earliest possible date. We are offering the temporary part-time positions (65% FTE) for three years. Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.
**Your tasks**:
- Investigation of aging mechanisms on cell performance and safety
- Cell construction
- In-situ characterization (EIS, GITT, pulse tests)
- Post-mortem characterization (optical analysis, SEM, N2 adsorption, XPS, TGA)
- Method development for quantitative characterization of battery materials
- Safety testing (ARC, nail penetration, over-heat, external short)
These positions are tied to working towards a doctorate.
**Our expectations**:
- A master's degree in chemistry with above-average grades
- An independent, reflective, structured and clean working style
- High motivation, initiative and the ability to work in a team
- Good knowledge of English, German language skills would be advantageous, but are not a requirement
- Experience in areas of responsibility mentioned above is an advantage
