Tax Specialist

**WORK LOCATION**: Berlin (hybrid)

**DIRECT REPORT**: Head of Controlling

FULL-TIME

Expondo is an international C-Commerce company with an exciting VAT challenge. The goal of this new role is to bundle the tax issues at Expondo in a new department. Thus, this function is the contact person for internal and external stakeholders. The core of the tasks is to define internal tax relevant processes, define guidelines, strategic coordination with the tax advisor and financial managers & further development of the VAT tax model at Expondo.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Understanding and researching on tax laws
- Identifying tax risks and developing tax strategies
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax developments
- Managing tax provision and tax compliance procedures
- Ensuring compliance with the rules and regulations
- Complete tax-related reporting requirements
- Ensure that tax reports are filled in accordance with tax authorities
- Resolve tax issues
- Work on Tax Strategy Topics
- Developing the VAT Tax Model
- Building Processes and guidelines
- Communication with Tax Advisor

WHAT YOU BRING IN
- At least 5 years of experience at similar position in international environment
- Sound knowledge and understanding of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
- Educational background, min. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance or related fields
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and tax law
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Very good communication skills in German and English
