This role requires fluent German and is based in Berlin or remote within Germany.

The role

We are growing our finance team and are now looking for a Tax Specialist (x/f/m) to join our growth journey

In this role you will get a chance to shape new finance processes as related to direct tax accounting, planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, and act as a sparring partner to our VAT Manager and directly report to International Tax Manager.

Tasks

Key responsibilities
- Prepare tax entries and disclosures for German GAAP (HGB) financial statements, as well as being responsible for the proper tax accruals in the ERP system.
- Support the preparation and timely filing of direct tax returns, including withholding taxes for 40+ entities world-wide.
- Assist in annual and periodic budgeting and forecasting of corporate and deferred tax charges for the Group entities.
- Support the new ERP system setup in NetSuite.
- Prepare audit and tax work papers and fulfill data requests of stakeholders regarding direct tax and indirect tax (VAT, Sales Tax) matters.
- Help us to implement and maintain transfer pricing policies
- Be up to date with new tax accounting policy, trends, and government tax incentives in Germany and other counties.

Your Background

Our new team member will start on a lot of greenfield with and will get a lot of room to grow and develop.

**The following will set you up for success**:

- Hands experience in Accounting and HGB professional (ideally +2 years)
- Solid German skills to communicate with German tax authorities
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify improvements to processes and controls
- Very good knowledge of international taxation principles and German taxes
- Experience with common ERP systems (NetSuite preferable, SAP or similar fine as well)
- Ready to take ownership and able to manage topics self-dependent
- Excellent communication skills in English
