Freelance Language Specialist for Automotive

The Language Specialist is a key member of our Operations team working directly with our Operation Managers and Community and Quality Team to ensure the quality of translated and published deliverables.

You will be the main specialist for your language and will work with a high-end customer in the automotive sector. You will carry out on-demand translation and post-editing tasks including, but not limited to, proofreading, linguistic arbitration and coordination of linguistic feedback and tasks with an MT-Focus. You will also develop and maintain linguistic materials (Glossary, Style Guide, Linguistic Instructions) as required.

**Your responsibilities**:

- You will act as a Quality advocate for your language and ensure all challenges and risks are addressed and QA best practices are recommended.
- Evaluate materials and ensure the appropriate level of consistency/accuracy of formatting, stylistic consistency across source and target languages, and adherence to specifications and style guides.
- You will be involved in customer feedback analysis, arbitration and implementation as well as liaising with in-country customer reviewers as needed.
- Assess options and make recommendations for process improvements that improve efficiency and quality.
- Provide direct constructive feedback in real-time to other stakeholders.

**Your profile**:

- Degree in Translation, Linguistics or similar with specialization in mechanical engineering and automotive (references to be provided upon request)
- Minimum 3 years of translation experience
- You are familiar with the linguistic and cultural details of your language
- You can translate from English and German
- Working knowledge of CAT Tools and LQE requirements
