Chief of Staff

**Summary**:
The Chief of Staff is responsible for optimizing the effectiveness of the Hardware teams and managing the planning and communication of Global Hardware initiatives and projects. This includes closely partnering with the Tribe Lead to ensure alignment and the effective communication of Hardware initiatives across SumUp.

The role has a broad area of responsibility managing projects, strategic initiatives, communications, coaching Leaders and coordinating cross-functional efforts that will require in-depth knowledge of Hardware, SumUp context and the ability to handle critical and confidential details. This role has a high strategic impact within the organization, as it will influence decision making at the Leadership level.

The role spans beyond project delivery - the Chief of Staff drives key events and communications like all-employee meetings, off-sites & Quarterly OKR reviews. Additionally, this role ensures our Hardware strategy and mission is omnipresent in those events and communications.

**Responsible For**:

- Collaborating cross functionally to unblock, unlock and drive change, pushing forward strategic projects and ensuring the Hardware Tribe is meeting the targets and is on track for key initiatives
- Driving the planning and facilitation of the Hardware meetings: like the Hardware Board, OKR alignment meetings and annual off-sites
- Continuously improving the way the Hardware teams collaborate & get work done
- Budget and Financial Planning: working closely with FP&A on forecasting and managing the Hardware Capital Allocation Agreement (CAA)
- Coordinating resources to kick-off special initiatives & projects and, where needed, project managing the follow-through. In some cases, this role will also own specific Hardware initiatives
- Organizing key Team events - these events are important moments that help reinforce culture and connections and alignment to strategy.
- Coaching Leaders across the Tribe
- Communication: serving as a highly effective Storyteller through internal and external communications, liaising with SumUp Chief of Staff on Communications as needed

**Skills Needed to Succeed in the role**:

- 5+ years of professional experience in high performance environments such as high growth technology start-ups with a focus on People & Organization topics.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, yet a hands-on approach focused on quick and flawless execution. You are able to fly high but also deep-dive when needed
- Highly empathic with superb Stakeholder Management skills and ability to work with people at all levels
- Can grasp and add value to the Leader's vision as a thought partner
- Organizationally savvy and able to build networks across the organization
- Excellent multimodal communication skills with the ability to focus messaging to drive maximum impact, and simplifying complex topics to different audiences within a global context
- Strong business acumen and passion for Products and their impact on Customer's lives
- Previous cross-functional project management experience from ideation to execution
- Previous experience in coaching Leaders and People Managers
- Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills
