**About this role**:
As a Senior Data Scientist you will design and implement advanced Operations Research (OR) models such as pricing algorithms, routing, shift planning, or capacity planning, utilizing techniques like metaheuristics, exact methods, etc.

You’ll focus on deploying these solutions into production systems, leveraging cloud infrastructure, event stores, and robust deployment pipelines. Staying at the forefront of OR advancements, you’ll explore new algorithms, architectures, and methodologies to enhance the performance of our products and algorithms.

You’ll uphold rigorous quality standards to ensure the delivery of efficient, reliable solutions aligned with business needs and collaborate on incorporating machine learning techniques into OR models for further innovation. Additionally, you'll collaborate with Developers and Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineers, empowering them to utilise our algorithms effectively to drive maximum impact in our operations.

Finally, you will play a pivotal role in our team by fostering collaboration among peers. You'll work closely with fellow data scientists to establish and implement best practices, share insights, and provide constructive feedback on each other's projects. Your expertise and leadership skills will be instrumental as you mentor junior team members, guiding them through their projects and helping them develop their skills.

- Leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to guide and develop junior data scientists and foster team collaboration.
- A holistic project approach, from generating business cases to managing the full lifecycle of models.
- Ability to generate innovative ideas, test hypotheses rigorously, and pitch business cases to stakeholders.
- Critical analysis of approaches, assumptions, and business impact, with the ability to challenge and refine strategies for optimal results.
- Preference for simple, scalable, and effective solutions, particularly in complex projects.
- Expertise in agile environments with strong collaborative skills, particularly in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex data insights and machine learning concepts to a wide range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.

**What will you bring to the table?**:

- Expertise in designing OR models (routing, demand forecasting, capacity planning) using metaheuristics, exact optimization, and simulation tools.
- Proficiency in deploying OR solutions using cloud platforms, event stores, and robust pipelines.
- Advanced understanding of optimization techniques (e.g., linear/integer programming) and heuristic methods.
- Skilled in Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Experience with cloud-based systems and data pipelines.
- Willingness to learn and integrate ML techniques into OR solutions.
