As part of the Bureau of Technology, your mission will be to detect, design, develop, implement and improve data-driven solutions that will play a key role in developing BackMarket’s business and vision.

You will first be joining the Recommendation team whose mission is to build an in-house recommendation engine for Back Market.

As a senior lead data scientist, you will play a cross-team role where you will interact with all data scientists and ML engineers but not only: engineering managers, tech leads, chapter leads, business stakeholders, etc.

**YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT)**:

- Design and implement large and complex data science projects in the company (ex: in-house recommendation engine)
- Provide insights to improve existing ML models currently in production
- Provide DS expertise and help other data scientists to grow theirs
- Help recruit data science profiles by participating in the recruitment strategy and processes

Then:
- Evangelize data science in the company to identify and assess data science / ML opportunities
- Animate a data science community to share good practices and build the data science chapter within our whole tech organization
- Participate in building a vision for data science at Back Market
- Embrace the data science spokesperson role in the company

**YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF YOU HAVE**:

- Proven track record in in-house recommendation systems
- Pragmatic mindset. You will be in charge of implementing solutions that bring value with the right tools
- Experience with all the different stages of several complex machine learning and data science use cases
- Ability to deep dive into mathematical topics (data science, machine learning, statistics)
- Ability to vulgarize a technical topic to non-technical people and to mentor other data scientists
- Experience in building and fostering data science good practices, sharing knowledge and animating a community at scale
- Ability to take a step back in order to identify future challenges and opportunities where data science could be leveraged
- Great verbal and written communication skills in English
