**We are looking for an experienced Structural Design Engineer to complement the mechanical, thermal and propulsion team and be responsible for all structural related activities of the spacecraft, throughout the whole subsystem lifecycle.

With a solid background in mechanical design of satellite structures, satellite accommodation and electronic unit housing design obtained from experience from several satellite projects, preferably microsatellite projects, is required.

You will be responsible for the design and optimization of the satellite structure, integration of the units, and coordination with other subsystem and the system engineering teams.

Specific responsibilities include design definitions for lightweight components and assemblies as well as designing the Additive Manufacturing that conforms to internal standards, procedures & specifications.

The work will include spacecraft structure requirement engineering design. You will manage technical data exchanges with suppliers, follow prototyping and engineering activities up to qualification, and participate in the AIV/AIT of flight models.

**Day to Day**:

- Top level design and requirements definition, starting from mission and payload requirements
- Perfom trade-off studies and reviews to selet the optimal design solution
- Responsible for design of the primary and secondary satellite structure, including mechanisms, in coordination with the mechanical and thermal engineers
- Implement design model philosophy: breadboard, engineering model, flight model, etc.
- Design for additive manufacturing and conventional manufacturing methods: CNC, Lathe, sheet metal, surface finishes
- Responsible for the mechanical design for electronic boards housings considering the thermal and harness constrains
- Along the system engineer, perform acceptance and qualification campaigns
- Technical and formal documentation of the designed system, revision of 2D drawing and maintenance of design data.
- Managing development schedules by prioritzing the key designs

**Requirements**:
**Required Qualifications**:

- Education: Advanced University degree (Master’s degree or equivalent), preferably in Aerospace Engineering
- Basic knowledge of systems engineering
- Experience in design and developing of spacecraft hardware
- Good knowledge and hands-on experience with satellite structure design considering all constrains (thermal, harness, mass and loads)
- +5 year experience with CAD software (e.g. Solidworks, CATIA, Siemens NX )
- +2 year experience on FEA software (e.g. HYPERWORKS, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS )
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment

**Nice to have**:

- Experience on Thermal Analysis software (ESARAD/ESATAN, THERMICA)
- Experience in acceptance and qualification test campaigns of space components: thermal, vibration, shock tests.
- Experience in metal additive manufacturing methods: DED and PBF
- Experience in ECSS mechanical standards: ECSS-E-ST-32C, ECSS-E-ST-32-08, ECSS-Q-ST-70C
