- Student Helper Position in Python Diagnostics Tool Integration (M/F/d)
**Background**
The Paleoclimate Dynamics section of the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar
and Marine Research (AWI) in Bremerhaven, Germany, is looking for a motivated and skilled
student helper. This role focuses on integrating a Python diagnostics tool (TriPyView) into a
involved in ensuring smooth integration and functionality of the diagnostic tools within the
workfow manager, contributing to the overall efciency and correctness of climate modeling
simulations.
**Tasks**
In this role, you will:
- Integrate the TriPyView Python diagnostics tool into the ESM-Tools Python workfow
- manager.
- Test and debug the integrated tools to ensure seamless functionality.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize the workfow and address any issues that
- arise during the integration process.
- Document the integration process and provide user-friendly guidelines for future use.
- Add new climate system diagnostics to the fnished workfow.
**Requirements**:
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program in computer science, climate physics,
- environmental science, or a related feld.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Profciency in Python programming is advantageous but not required.
- Basic understanding of climate models and earth system science is advantageous but not
- required.

Work time: This is a 40-hour per month position suitable for students, starting with fexible starting and
