We deal with various electrochemical processes, particularly with the functioning of electrocatalysts under varying reaction conditions. Our research focuses on water electrolysis and fuel cell technologies, with which we want to lay the foundations for a green hydrogen economy. If you would like to be part of this, please apply **Your Profile**: - Current studies in the field of mechanical engineering, chemistry, environmental engineering, energy technology (or comparable) - Interest in electrochemical processes and catalyst research - Previous knowledge of electrochemistry and water electrolysis is an advantage but not a prerequisite - Experience in the laboratory is desirable, especially in dealing with chemical and electrochemical experiments - Independent and committed way of working and strong initiative **Your Duties and Responsibilities**: - Preparation, execution, and evaluation of experimental work on catalyst research for alkaline and anion exchange membrane water electrolysis - Preparation of experiments: provision and production of required materials (e.g., chemicals, test stand, and cell components) - Experiment execution: electrochemical methods for optimizing and determining the activity of electrocatalysts in various test rigs and scales - Data evaluation: analysis and preparation of raw data using various software tools (e.g. Python, Excel, Origin) - Support for the maintenance and optimization of test stands to ensure a smooth test procedure **What We Offer**: The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of one year. This is a part-time contract position. The standard weekly hours will be 8-10 hours. The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
