Learning and Development Team and Event Coordinator

HL Learn, the global Learning and Development team, is part of the firm’s People function, and headed by the Chief Learning Officer, based in Washington, D.C.. Teams in each of the firm’s regions (Americas, Asia-Pacific, and EMEA) collaborate on global, regional, and local initiatives.
The EMEA team is based across offices in London, Birmingham, Munich and Johannesburg, and supports the firm’s People strategy through a range of development programs, workshops, coaching, mentoring, online-learning, and other career development activities.
Your role and responsibilities
- Coordinating and hosting of our state-of-the-art international Learning and Development training events, both in-person and virtual learning experiences for 20-100 lawyers (before, during, after)
- Managing external vendors, event locations, hotels and service providers (sightseeing tours, catering etc.)
- Internal communication with participants and contributors (creating and sending invitations for programs and monthly newsletter, managing calendars, answering questions)
- Collaborating with in-house teams (HR, Bookkeeping, Learning Management System administrators, Event Management and Reception team, Print Shop)
- Preparing training material (Power Point presentations, workbooks, hand-outs, flyer, name tags etc.)
- Creating training evaluation surveys and data analysis
- Data maintenance (documentation of participations on our Learning Management System (Cornerstone), tracking invoices of cost spending)
- Creating social media posts on LinkedIn after trainings
- Self-directed organizing of standard trainings including communication with external trainers and arrangement of dates
- Supporting updates of our internal brochures and intranet presence
**Profile**:
- Completed vocational training in office administration, event management, hospitality or similar with an additional 2+ years of professional experience _or_
- Bachelor in event or tourism management, business administration, education or similar with 1+ years of professional experience
- Experience in the area Learning and Development welcome
- Proven organizational talent and coordination skills
- High level of initiative, flexibility and hands-on mentality
- Strong affinity for processes and administration
- Digital mindset, interest in learning technologies
- Ability to work self-directed in a dynamic and intercultural team environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally in Germany/Europe
- Very good knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word)
- Very good knowledge of Zoom and MS Teams
- Very good German and English language skills
