**Researcher for Digital Data Entry and Coordination of Digitisation Project**
**Salary group 13 TV-L**

to join the digital humanities research project **Prize Papers - Indexing - Digitization - Presentation**.

**Tasks**:

- Digital data entry of multilingual and heterogenious historical documents, c.1650-1815
- Creation and documentation of metadata policies (definition, standards, controlled vocabularies, guides), workflows, and procedures for efficiency, consistency and transparency
- Softbare based coordination and documentation of digitization and data entry of multilingual and heterogenious historical documents by an international team of scholars
- Project coordination across multiple units
- Collaborative engagement within a small central team, and with the wider team

**Employment requirements**:

- Qualifying academic University degree (master or diploma (not of a University of Applied Sciences)) in history or a related field/digital humanities or a related field, ideally PhD
- Very good knowledge of English and German
- Experience in the above mentioned tasks documented through work references
- Ability to work in a team in an interdisciplinary and international setting
- Excellent time management skills
- High degree of initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

**Desirable skills, knowledge and experience**:

- Palaeographic skills for the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries / willingness to acquire these
- Knowledge of early modern history / willingness to acquire these

You will join a team of young scholars working within a broad international network in the Digital Humantities and historical research. You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills in digital data entry and coordination of a digitization project in an international and high profile project at the interfaces of humanities, digitisation and database technologies. The position is based at the University Oldenburg. It will involve travel to our project partners in London and in Göttingen as well as to workshops and conferences as relevant to the position.
