Technical Imaging Specialist

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

We are FRAMOS, an international product-driven imaging company of more than 180 amazing people from all over the world. We are looking for a Technical Imaging Specialist focused on Optics to join our team in this dedicated global standalone role.
This role is the core to growing FRAMOS competencies in Optics technology, sharing knowledge and contributing with their technical expertise to various departments' success, for example, Sales, Marketing, and Engineering.
Reporting directly to the Head of Technical Solutions & Support based in Munich, you will be working in a small team of global technical imaging experts.
**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- You will be growing an Optics competence center with the goal of nurturing knowledge and making it accessible to FRAMOSians
- You will help select suitable lensing options predominantly in the C/S-Mount range for distribution and own products requests, making sure lens options matching the selected image sensors and customer boundary conditions are provided in timely manner
- You take ownership for Imaging Lab requirements definition & result interpretation around quality tests of Optics and Optical Modules
- You act as the Alpha-Customer for New Product Introduction releases around optics
- You support your team members and colleagues from other departments with dedicated and deep technical Optics topics to help them work efficiently
- You will oversee technical consultations and education of FRAMOS peers and customers to advance their optics knowledge such as trainings, webinars, white papers, and internal/external Knowledge Base articles
- You will provide definitions of specifications and test
- and approval criteria for custom/semi-custom lenses
- You will enhance quality strategy and production standards within the optics business line.
- You provide technical assessment of lens suppliers in FRAMOS lens supplier landscape
- You oversee projects and take the lead in technical discussions with lens vendors
- You will conduct market research to expand and improve the optics portfolio continually
- You will monitor and create awareness of technical advancements to keep the optics solutions competitive

The role can be based in Germany (Munich) or Croatia (Čakovec/Zagreb) or remotely in Germany or Croatia.

**YOUR PROFILE**:

- You have gained work experience in frontend Optics, ideally in the domain of C/S-Mount optics used in combination with industrial CMOS Image Sensors
- You have an educational background in an Optics related field, preferably in Applied Physics with a focus on Optics
- You understand core optical parameters and dependencies like MTF, focal length, image circle, aperture, aberrations, CRA, and shading
- You can explain complex technical aspects in an understandable way
- You are passionate about imaging and optics
- You would like to fulfill a standalone specialist’s role and contribute to other departments' success by sharing knowledge and working on deeply technological tasks
- You would like to work in a fast-growing international environment with a team of imaging experts
