RWE Offshore Wind is one of the world's largest power producers from offshore wind power and a leading driver of the energy transition, especially green hydrogen. Green hydrogen is key to the energy transition needed for net zero emission targets. To achieve this, offshore and onshore production of hydrogen would play a key role. However, some of the technologies needed to achieve the least possible levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH) are still emerging. One of such is the hydrogen wind turbine - to produce hydrogen as an alternative to electricity generation.
RWE is developing several green hydrogen projects, such across the globe. The result of your internship will help us to create better clarity on improvements measures needed to realise the projects.
**About the role**:
- Analyse the impacts of deploying wind turbines for the purpose of hydrogen production in a decentral, semi-central and central systems on the wind turbine configuration.
- Determine the interfaces between the wind turbines and hydrogen system for the various systems of hydrogen production, and detail them.
- Represent the wind turbine configuration for the various systems of hydrogen production with the support of modelling tools using software simulation tools, e.g., Simulation X, SIMULINK, Modelica, etc.Document the result of your analyses and make presentations in English language.
**Job requirements and experiences**:
- Enrolled bachelor or master’s student in physical sciences or engineering.
- You are available for up to 38 hrs./week for a period of up to 6 months and still registered at your university
- Ideally first practical experience in the industry.
- High level of initiative, reliability and high organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Professional communication skills and a confident manner.
- MS Office skills and the ability to learn quickly new IT tools.
- Skills in simulation, e.g., MATLAB Simulink etc.
- You enjoy modern scientific methods in an international company and team at the core of the energy transition.Fluent English language skills, as part of your colleagues are not from Germany.
