Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation
To ensure the delivery of a sustainable and profitable mono-brand (Own retail & Franchise) market share growth in the region and operating within the parameters of the Global Retail CoE SLA by:

- Meeting or exceeding agreed net sales and profitability targets
- Leading by example on the development of a trading and service culture within the Retail & Franchising back office (RBO) and field teams
- Motivating and inspiring the Market field and Retail & Franchising back office teams to meet or exceed commercial goals and KPI’s, and build Brand equity
- Supporting the (Senior) Director Retail Operations and acting as “first amongst equals” with peer group to deliver a joined up world class retail business
- Managing the Franchise business in the region, ensuring compliance with the defined standards and guidelines of the Franchise Synergy Project driven from the Global Franchise Team and implementing business processes, e.g. VM, training
- Implementing, driving and ensuring compliance with agreed Global Retail CoE processes and standards for field and RBO operations
- Developing and executing local retail relevant and specific processes in close cooperation with the Global Retail CoE
- Supporting the development of a truly integrated Omni-channel experience to continuously improve both consumer service and in-store experience.
- Key Responsibilities
- Inspirationally lead retail stores to a world class position by focusing on the 5 P’s: People, Product, Premises, Processes and Profit.
- Ensure a leading shopping experience and continuously maximise profitability from the store portfolio, in conjunction with key stakeholders, including the Director Retail Operations and the Global Retail CoE.
- Manage and control operational expenses (OPEX) in line with the Market retail budget.
- Make recommendations to the (Senior) Director Retail Operations on commercial opportunities at regional level by analysing retail KPI’s and local retail trends and needs.
- Create and drive a high performance culture across the region by setting clear expectations and targets (using the SHINE PEP process) analysing stores’ performance, holding District Managers accountable and giving appropriate and prompt feedback.
- Ensure identification and improvement of best practices by own store format and compliance within the Market retail store portfolio and maximize them also into the franchising network
- Build and develop a sustainable franchising network with key focus on profitability
- Adhere to Global standards for all retail marketing, visual merchandising, SHINE and other store related activities, and monitor/evaluate established processes to guarantee stores’ full compliance.
- Identify and communicate regional needs and best practices to the Director Retail Operations and the Global Retail CoE.
- Implement all functional components of the adidas Group retail business model (logistics, IT, reporting, staff deployment planning, SHINE and adidas Group Retail University) in partnership with the respective functions and in line with Global Retail CoE standards.
- Drive compliance with all Global Retail CoE standards, taking regional requirements into account, unless legally prohibited from doing so.
- Support and work in close collaboration with the Key City team to ensure that the Key City is prioritised in order for us to deliver our brand goals.
- Team Management
- Manage, lead and take ownership for the District Management (DM) team ensuring that all subordinates have the knowledge and practical skills required and promotes a high performance culture by setting clear expectations and individual goals to focus the team/organization on key drivers that impact success.
- Define training and development requirements\methods for the DM team, Store Managers and In-store Trainers in all store formats to ensure excellence is implemented and maintained continuously.
- Define clear performance expectations of the DM team determining a performance management schedule and evaluation of progress toward established targets
- Leads and promotes a professional, high performance culture, leading by example and setting clear professional standards of operation and works effectively to drive store results in partnership with all Key business partners across the Retail and Wholesale business. (i.e. CoE, Senior Managers, District Managers, Store Teams)
- Evaluate the competencies of his/her subordinates on a regular basis and provide prompt and constructive feedback and assumes a coaching role in order to support and inspire his/her subordinates.
- Takes ownership for a consistent Talent Management Process in his/her respective region to grow talent for leadership positions.
- Develop strategies to translate the company vision and strategy into region-specific goals and business plans.
