Senior Director Transport Management Eu Scm

Purpose
This role is responsible for the overall leadership, development and execution of outbound transportation across Europe.
Key responsibility is to ensure that all outbound transportation flows are set-up according, and in close alignment, with consumer expectations considering budget targets.
Furthermore, the position initiates, drives and supports the continuous improvement of all outbound transport flows by active KPI management and market innovation introduction as well as in close alignment with key market stakeholder for all channels (Wholesale, Retail & e-Commerce).
With this, the position contributes significantly to the mid and long term transportation strategy to support business growth by delivering the best possible service while managing costs.- Key accountabilities
- Establishes short and long-range strategies and solutions that enable the on-time fulfillment of the adidas wholesale, retail and e-Commerce businesses at optimal service and costs
- Establishes key performance indicators in alignment with Europe supply chain objectives, ensuring the proper monitoring and corrective actions are taken to ensure targets are met
- Drives a culture of continuous improvements and innovation to optimize service levels and improve costs
- Lead the team to ensure effective execution of outbound deliveries whilst creating a high performing team culture
- Drive and lead strategic programs and cost saving initiatives for Transportation optimization, serving as a clear point of contact for business partners
- Act as a key party within EUSCM for contract negotiations with external carriers and service providers led by Global Transport Organization and procurement
- Defines, develops and executes regular business review processes with the carriers and relevant internal stakeholders with a focus on performance management
- Oversees the operational management of carrier relationship and ensures a business continuity plan is maintained and regularly reviewed to mitigate risks
- Strategic management and operational control of all outbound transportation activities in Europe to achieve a world class service level at optimum cost.

- Proven, strong team leading and building experience
- Well-developed planning, analytical and organization skills
- Experienced in working within an environment of wide range of complex assignments
- Extensive depth of theoretical knowledge and organizational practice
- Result orientated and pro-active, good decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to think end-to-end and operate cross-functional, good understanding of internal & external business drivers
- Very good communication skills, to interact effectively and efficiently with different layers of the organization and with external partners
- Strong logístical and economical and analytical skills
- High degree of customer orientation in combination with logístical & cost focus
- Proven track record in project and change management
- Fluent in English both verbal and written, multilingual is a plus
- Qualifications
- College / university degree with a focus in supply chain management; alternatively, equivalent combination of education and related work experience
- Minimum of 12 years of work experience, preferably in Supply Chain Management, specialized in the transportation sector with proven track records
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in management position incl. people management
