Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for public service and a talent for driving excellence? Medway Council is seeking a Finance and Resource Officer join our Children’s Services team. This is a pivotal role where your expertise in financial oversight, digital innovation, and stakeholder engagement will directly support the well-being of children and families across our community.

**About the role**:
As Finance and Resource Officer, you will coordinate complex administrative and financial operations across Children’s Services, ensuring alignment with council priorities and compliance with legislative frameworks. You’ll play a key role in shaping service delivery through data-driven insights, digital transformation, and collaborative planning.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Lead the development and implementation of financial and administrative systems to support strategic service delivery.
- Provide expert financial analysis and forecasting to inform budget setting and resource allocation.
- Design and adapt digital tools and data systems to enhance efficiency and reporting.
- Interpret complex legislation and policy to guide operational decisions and ensure compliance.
- Resolve complex issues using creative problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive shared outcomes.

**Career Progression Framework**:
Parklands are seeking a Finance and Resource Officer to join the team at level A. This is the entry point of the role, so you will need to be able to demonstrate the relevant knowledge, experience and skills to get you started, but you will be supported to develop in your role through induction, probation and a supportive Performance Appraisal and Career Conversation. All elements of level A listed within the person specification are essential. Through your induction you will be introduced to the Career Progression Framework (CPF), which will help you to identify your areas of strength and any development needs.
