Head, Clinical Development & Operations - Cardio Renal Metabolic (Head CD&O CRM) are value creators, innovator & developer of world-class clinical program execution paths across the entire Therapeutic Area (TA) and moderator & facilitator for ensuring clinical execution excellence within a given TA. The Head CD&O-CRM is nominated for each of the Therapeutic Areas as a bridge connecting strategy with execution excellence. The Head CD&O-CRM reports into Medicine organization and is member of the TA Medicine Leadership Team providing operational input into the TA Medicine strategy. The Head CD&O-CRM acts as functional manager for Clinical Development Operations Lead (CDOL) nominated at program level.

***Tasks & responsibilities**:
- As Head of CD&O-CRM you will be accountable for the proactive development of operational strategy for accelerated and efficient execution of clinical development programs within CRM focusing on being above industry benchmark for key performance indicators.
- You will be accountable for the governance of clinical program execution within CRM in alignment with CRM Medicine and Global Medical Affairs and drive opportunities for engagement and collaboration with partners relevant for CRM that include but are not limited to professional societies, academic institutions, site networks, patient groups and suppliers.
- In this role you will participate in governance or steering committee meetings with strategic partners and be responsible for resolving complex problems related to clinical delivery.
- You are responsible for maintaining high level of visibility of operational topics among TA strategic partners.
- Further, you will lead and represent Boehringer Ingelheim as a clinical operational counterpart for alliance partners, in-licensing partners and collaborators.
- Besides this, you will support cross-functional teams in Medicine, TA and Translational Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology in creating processes or standards that are necessary at therapeutic area-level for improving execution efficiency and quality. You will foster inclusion of technology and digital tools that enable the implementation of clinical programs with speed and value. This includes proactively supporting CRM in building an integrated platform to gather evidence from various sources such as RWE, claims data, registry, etc.
- Finally, as Head of CD&O-CRM, you will challenge the clinical team's study assumptions and ensure data-driven study planning, country and site selection, patient and client focus, and clinical program design.
***Requirements**:
- MD or PhD degree strongly desirable; minimum a degree in life sciences with extensive experience in clinical development and operations or a Bachelor’s degree in health sciences with long-term experience in the respective area
- Successful track record of developing drugs in cardio-renal-metabolism TA
