THE POSITION
The MPI-M is now opening a 1-year position for
Postdoctoral | Research Scientist (W-0051 | all genders)
to investigate the dynamical mechanisms driving tropical Pacific SST trends in km-scale ICON simulations.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct idealized experiments with the km-scale ICON model
- Examine mechanisms in km-scale simulations that are distinct from those in CMIP-class models

EMPLOYEEMENT CONDITIONS
- The position is offered for 2 years, with a flexible start date on or after September 1st, 2025.
- Payment will be in accordance with German public service positions depending on qualification (E14 TVöD), including extensive social security plans. The conditions of employment, including upgrades and duration, follow the rules of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science and those of the German civil service.
