Data Team Lead

Your missionFor our significantly growing Data, AI & MarTech Department, we are looking for 2 technical team leads for 2 teams together covering the following topics. Each successful candidate is supposed to fulfil a respective subset of mentioned qualifications. As Data Team Lead you are playing a pivotal role in Smartbrokers data & AI journey. You will lead and mentor great talents and work at the intersection of business, data, and technology, drive innovation and data & AI adoption throughout the organisation. Your team is responsible for generating significant business value through data, enable data & AI driven decision making across departments, while ensuring compliance with data regulations. Lead a team of highly skilled and motivated data engineers, software engineers, AI engineers, act as mentor for team members supporting themgrowing and unfolding their full potentialBe responsible forourcloud baseddata lake infrastructure, drive continuous improvement, manage data access, ensure compliant data handling and platform securityManage end-to-end implementation of efficient data pipelines according to our dataconsumers‘ needs, from data ingestion, transformation to consumable data productsOwn the technical implementation and components of your team as well as their operation and maintenanceDevelopment and integration of data governance tools, e.g., automated data deletions or tracking consent managementBe responsible fortechnical integration of marketing toolsManage the implementation of server-side-trackingand own our tracking infrastructure incl.Google Tag Manager,Firebase, Google Ads…Develop andmaintainthe technical AI and machine learning infrastructureManage machine learning and Gen AI use case implementation using LLMs and RAGBuild AI and data features in close collaboration with product engineering teamsClosely collaborate with data consumers across theorganisationincl.Management,Product, Marketing, Finance, Client Support andOperationsYour profileUniversity degree in a technical field: computer science, business informatics, natural sciences, or similarExpert knowledge in machine learning, generative AI, LLMs & RAG, AIagentsand related technical tools (OpenAI,LangChain,Langfuse…)Very goodpython & SQL programming skills, Java is a plusDeep technical knowledge of moderncloud baseddata platforms (GCP/AWS,dbt, Firebase,BigQuery)Familiarity with analytics tools like Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, Google AnalyticsExperience with implementation of server-side tracking and consent managementStrong understanding in structuring data models and efficient data processing of large data setsDeep knowledge of Software Engineering best practices—from requirements specification, version control, CI/CD, and testing to deployment and monitoring of data pipelines and servicesFamiliarity with data & AI security, data regulations, data privacy requirementsStrong people and stakeholder management skillsProactive, solution-oriented mindset, experience in leading and mentoring talents,strong senseof ownershipStrong English communication and presentation skills, German is a plus Interest in finance and fintech industry and a sense of humorAbout usAmong other things, the Smartbroker Group operates Smartbroker+ - a multi-award-winning online broker that is the only provider in Germany to combine the extensive product range of traditional brokers with the extremely favourable conditions of neobrokers.
