About the Role



We're seeking a talented Fire Strategy Manager to support the expansion of the Amazon network in the EU.



The Fire Strategy Manager will develop and manage a standardized approach to fire engineering strategy across the EU countries for the Amazon REI and compliance programs.



Responsibilities


  • Assists in the resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigations or inspections, detailed checking of design done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
  • Identifies applicable codes and standards to reference in evaluating how to respond to inquiries
  • Conducts building code analyses, egress analyses, fire detection and alarm systems reviews, smoke control systems reviews, and basic sprinkler systems reviews
  • Defines and drives the improvement oriented to an EU-wide standardization of the fire strategy of the Amazon Fulfillment Centers
  • Carries out onsite assessment of the fire strategy in line with industry norms, during construction, post-construction review and for the life cycle of the buildings


The role will be based in Germany with 40% of time traveling either domestically or to other EMEA countries.



About You

We're looking for an individual who has significant experience in warehousing or industrial operations permitting and in fire protection strategy or design.




  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EU building (Country equivalents) and fire regulations (NFPA / EU equivalents)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fire engineering principles and practices in industrial / logistics buildings
  • Track record of solving challenging, complex permitting activities
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills to interact and negotiate with technical and institutional stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Ability to build trustful relationships with private and public partners
  • Fluency in English is a must, working knowledge in another EU language is required, Italian or German preferred
