Postdoctoral Researcher Opportunity

The Heidelberg Institute of Global Health is seeking a highly motivated and qualified postdoctoral researcher to join our team. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will work under the guidance of Dr. Pascal Geldsetzer and other researchers at Heidelberg University and Stanford University.

Research Focus

Our research group focuses on medication effectiveness, health services research, and population health issues. We use quasi-experimental techniques, descriptive epidemiology, and randomized trials to analyze large-scale electronic health record data.

Responsibilities
  • Lead analyses in electronic health record data to determine the effectiveness of medications, lifestyle advice, and health services interventions.
  • Collaborate with researchers at Heidelberg University and Stanford University to design and implement research studies.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
  • Supervise PhD, Master, and Dr. med students.
  • Teach as part of the institute's Masters and doctoral program.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree with quantitative training or research experience.
  • Training and experience in quasi-experimental methods is a plus.
  • Strong coding skills in R, Stata, or other statistical software package.
  • Good communication skills in English.
