Job Title: Legal Research Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Research Officer to join our team at the Blockchain & Climate Institute. As a Legal Research Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission to promote the adoption of blockchain technology in the fight against climate change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent legal research and analyses on climate change-related legislation and regulation;
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including legislators, regulators, lawyers, and policymakers, to establish strategic partnerships;
  • Develop rigorous methodologies for legal research projects and produce high-quality research papers and briefing materials;
  • Collaborate with our Regulatory Reform Working Group to drive forward projects and achieve our mission.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of international environmental law, climate change policy, and distributed ledger technology;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships and communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Fluency in one of the following languages is desirable: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish;
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and legal research databases such as Lexis Nexis;
  • A Degree in law is required, and a Master's degree in one of the following fields is highly desirable: International Environmental Law; Climate Policy; or Information Technology Law.
