About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Project Manager to join our team at Alstom in Siegen, Germany. As a key member of our procurement organization, you will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and optimizing material budgets, as well as establishing and managing procurement schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and opportunities.
- Manage the procurement schedule, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and project timelines.
- Represent procurement interests in project meetings and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
- Provide input on project-specific terms and conditions to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Drive make-or-buy decisions based on overall business strategy and supplier input.
- Coordinate material cost reduction activities and ensure alignment with global commodity management.
- Manage supplier documentation, including requirements and execution.
- Ensure dual/multi-sourcing activities are shared, aligned, and agreed with the project team prior to purchase order placement.
About You
We value passion and attitude over experience. To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A university degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or commerce.
- Technical knowledge and understanding of procurement processes.
- Strong personal responsibility and willingness to travel.
- Ability to communicate effectively in German and English.
- Good knowledge of MS-Excel and PowerPoint, with SAP knowledge a plus.
