Position Overview:
The role of the Application Engineering Manager for Carrier Networks is a pivotal leadership position within the organization. This individual will oversee a dedicated team of Application Engineers (AEs) who serve as the technical authority for Corning's innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of AEs in delivering exceptional pre-sales and post-sales support.
- Facilitate customer engagements by providing tailored product recommendations and system designs.
- Ensure the successful installation and troubleshooting of systems while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation and training materials to enhance customer understanding of Corning's solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather customer feedback and drive product enhancements.
- Analyze competitive offerings and provide insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Manage field trials and assess the effectiveness of new innovations in real-world applications.
- Foster relationships with third-party vendors to ensure seamless integration of solutions.
Managerial Duties:
- Guide team members in prioritizing tasks and ensuring they possess the necessary skills for their roles.
- Monitor team performance through established metrics and objectives.
- Develop a strategic vision for process optimization and implement best practices.
- Conduct performance reviews and facilitate professional development for team members.
- Promote a collaborative team environment that values each member's contributions.
- Engage with stakeholders across various functions to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA is advantageous.
- Over five years of experience in the telecommunications sector.
- Strong analytical and technical capabilities.
- Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Experience in presenting to senior executives and managing expectations.
- Track record of driving organizational change.
- Fluency in English, with additional European languages being a plus.
Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel within the EMEA region as necessary, with a focus on customer engagement and support.
Work Schedule:
This position requires a commitment to a minimum of 40 hours per week, with flexibility for travel and occasional weekend work.
