Electronics Business Development Specialist

BTC Electronic Components is a leading supplier of electronic interconnect products to major military and aerospace manufacturers.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and diversifying business to increase income and ensure the future and growth of the organization. They will work to present opportunities that result in the best strategic and financial outcomes for the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Close new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Enhance the organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
- Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives.
- Increase the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
- Find and develop new markets and improve sales.
- Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Develop quotes and proposals for clients.
- Train personnel and help team members develop their skills.
- Demand creation - Use experience in the electronic components industry to define critical markets and new customers in the assigned sales territory.
- Promote and sell the Value Add, Supply Chain, and Full Life Cycle programs offered by BTC Electronic Components.
- Plan sales strategy and develop key internal and external relationships to ensure a strong foundation for solution selling.
- Establish and foster relationships with customers to win design opportunities and deal with existing business challenges.
- Ensure customer satisfaction related to supply chain management and other value-added services.
- Develop strategic plans for all assigned accounts, sell, and market the full set of BTC Electronic Components offerings incorporating in-depth knowledge of BTC Electronic Components' key supplier lines, such as Glenair, Amphenol, TE, Souriau/Sunbank, and Leach.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree preferred, plus 3-5 years field sales experience.
- Experience in sales, marketing, or related field.
- Experience interacting with vendors and customers in a technical and engineering environment.
- Experience preparing comprehensive internal quarterly business reviews (iQBR), presenting strategic plans and implementation steps to grow sales, demand creation, and improve customer service, and ability to lead regular QBRs with major customers that unlock additional sales opportunities.
- Proficiency in sales tracking systems, Oracle.
- Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Mil/Aero experience a must.
- Current or recent industry experience and knowledge of the assigned market/territory, customers, competition.
- Experience selling value add, supply chain, and full life cycle services.
- Experience developing sales strategy.
- Proven ability to articulate complex strategies and able to execute on them.
- In-depth understanding of pricing programs and models within the electronics industry.
