Each year, Newstalk expands its listener base and is celebrated nationwide as the independent voice of Ireland, featuring a stellar lineup of leading broadcasters.

The Role
In our ongoing efforts to expand and enhance our content team, we are currently seeking applications for a Senior Producer position on our flagship breakfast program, Newstalk Breakfast.
We are looking for a seasoned, innovative, and driven individual capable of setting the editorial direction and sparking national conversations. As the Senior Producer, you will take on a leadership role in content creation and delivery, ensuring impactful and innovative programming.
In this dynamic and fast-paced position, your responsibilities will include:
Crafting and guiding the vision for Newstalk Breakfast and executing it effectively Steering the content strategy for Newstalk Leading the production team and managing all facets of daily show production Producing live in the studio while continuously evolving the program's sound Fostering a strong collaborative relationship with the presenters Overseeing the production team to maximize impact, nurturing talent, and providing consistent feedback Generating and cultivating creative, original ideas for the program Responding swiftly to breaking news to ensure accurate and timely broadcasts Editing and producing imaginative audio segments for the program Breaking news stories and exploring new angles and contributors for existing topics Securing top-tier guests and exclusive on-air opportunities for the program Developing and implementing quarterly content plans to drive audience growth Collaborating with Senior Editors and the News, Sport, and Digital teams to set the agenda on key public issues and enhance content impact Actively participating in weekly editorial meetings with the editorial team Performing additional duties as requiredIf you identify with the following attributes, you may be the ideal candidate:
A strong passion for news and current affairs Demonstrated leadership capabilities in previous roles Experience managing prominent on-air personalities to optimize performance Ability to identify and develop stories that resonate with audiences Comprehensive knowledge of defamation law and BAI Codes of Conduct A wide range of interests, keeping up with news, politics, sports, business, celebrity news, social issues, and more A self-starter who can identify, pitch, and develop broadcast items Proficiency in recording, editing, and navigating digital and social media Strong radio production and craft skills Driven by a desire to succeed Capacity to multitask and perform well under pressure and deadlinesBefore applying, ensure you meet the following criteria:
A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role, managing content output, program teams, and presenting talent in a broadcast context A qualification in journalism or a related fieldOur Culture & Rewards
