The Role
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Senior Producer to join our team and lead the content strategy for Newstalk Breakfast.
As Senior Producer, you will be responsible for setting the editorial agenda and creating innovative content that engages our audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a content strategy that drives engagement and growth for Newstalk Breakfast
- Lead a team of producers and presenters to create high-quality content that meets the needs of our audience
- Produce live in-studio content and develop a strong working relationship with our presenters
- Manage the production team to maximize impact and develop their skills
- Generate and develop creative ideas for the programme
- React to breaking news quickly and accurately
- Edit and create imaginative audio pieces for the programme
- Break news stories and develop new angles and contributors
- Secure the best guests and on-air exclusives for the programme
- Create and implement quarterly content plans to drive JNLR growth
- Work with senior editors and other teams to set the agenda for the station on key issues
Requirements
- At least three years' experience in a similar role, managing content output and programme teams
- Qualification in journalism or a related discipline
- Strong leadership qualities and experience managing strong on-air personalities
- Excellent knowledge of defamation law and BAI Codes of Conduct
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure and to deadlines
