Newstalk has emerged as Ireland's most rapidly expanding independent talk radio station, reaching 852,000 listeners weekly across 26 counties. The Role
In line with our ongoing growth and the development of our content team, we are currently seeking applications for a Senior Producer position for our flagship breakfast program, Newstalk Breakfast.
We are looking for a seasoned, innovative, and driven individual capable of shaping the editorial direction and sparking national conversations. As a Senior Producer, you will take on a leadership role in content creation and the delivery of impactful programming.
In this dynamic and fast-paced position, your responsibilities will include:
Crafting and steering the vision for Newstalk Breakfast and executing it effectively Leading the content strategy for Newstalk Overseeing the production team and managing all facets of daily show production Producing live in-studio content while continuously enhancing the program's audio experience Building strong collaborative relationships with presenters Guiding the production team to maximize their impact, fostering talent, and providing regular constructive feedback Generating and cultivating creative, original ideas for the program Responding swiftly to breaking news to ensure timely and accurate coverage Editing and producing imaginative audio segments for the program Uncovering news stories and developing fresh angles and contributors Securing top-tier guests and exclusive on-air opportunities Developing and implementing quarterly content strategies to drive audience growth Collaborating with Senior Editors and teams across News, Sport, and Digital to set the agenda on key public issues and maximize content impact Actively participating in weekly editorial meetings with the editorial team Performing additional duties as requiredIf you identify with the following qualities, you may be the ideal candidate:
A strong passion for news and current affairs Proven leadership skills in previous roles Experience in managing prominent on-air personalities to enhance performance Ability to identify and develop compelling stories that resonate Comprehensive understanding of defamation law and BAI Codes of Conduct A wide range of interests, including news, politics, sports, business, celebrity culture, and social issues A self-motivated individual who can identify, pitch, and develop broadcast items Proficiency in recording, editing, and navigating digital and social media Strong radio production and craft skills Driven by a desire to achieve success Capable of multitasking and thriving under pressure and deadlinesBefore applying, ensure you meet the following criteria:
A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role, overseeing content output, program teams, and presenting talent in a broadcast setting A qualification in journalism or a related fieldOur Culture & Rewards
