Our goal is to create a seamless and sustainable EV charging experience for our customers. To achieve this, we need a talented individual who can lead the development and implementation of our EV charging products and services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in EV charging technologies, product management, and technical expertise. They will be responsible for defining and driving the technical requirements, specifications, and validation of our EV charging products and services.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Defining EV charging products business strategy, portfolio, and standards for Amazon Deutschland Transport GmbH
  • Understanding key aspects of EV charging technologies, including design, operations, costs, predictive and preventative maintenance, safety, and security risks
  • Providing technical diligence on EV charging products, defining and deriving technical requirements and specifications
  • Validating EV charging products against internal technical and regulatory requirements
  • Leading partnerships with internal EV design teams and EV OEMs to ensure EVSE-EV compatibility and deployment configurations

We are looking for a highly analytical, resourceful, and customer-focused individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and deadline-oriented work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EV charging technologies, product management, and technical expertise.

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on concurrent projects and programs in multiple geographical regions and across business units. You will be a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support the delivery station.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  • Munich, DEU

Basic qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, or Software Engineering from an accredited university, or a related scientific field
  • 8+ years of experience in mechatronics or electrical engineering in the areas of automotive, electrification, power systems, power electronics, control systems for industrial systems
  • Experience with the definition, ownership, and successful execution of product strategies with cross-functional/business-unit wide impact in the EV/EVSE industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Electric Vehicle industry and specifically proven track record in EVSE technology definition, validation, and application in large-scale, cross-functional, international projects

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or MBA in Engineering Management
  • Expert knowledge of developing highly-availability EVSE design/architectures, large-scale power systems, electric mobility/transportation, or mission-critical industrial systems, that are at parity (or exceeds) industry design trends
  • 10+ years of experience with power products used in design, operation, or maintenance of large-scale infrastructure systems
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations including IEC, CE, and ISO (e.g. ISO15118, OCPP, OCPI)
  • Knowledge of cloud computing architecture and capabilities (e.g. AWS or Azure certification)
  • Ability to carry new design concepts through exploration, Senior Leadership approvals, development, and into prototyping/manufacturing/roll-out
  • Experience with data analytical skills and tools such as Excel, Tableau, SQL, and regression models
  • Demonstrated ability to work with total autonomy and effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous, deadline-oriented work environment in an organized manner, and willing to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done
  • Experience writing documents on technical requirements and test cases for new products, process improvement initiatives, and/or design validation plans
  • Ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present the justification to Senior Leadership, Directors, and VPs in a high-level review
