About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Assistant Underwriting to join our team at Munich Re. As a key member of our Underwriting Services (UWS) team, you will play a critical role in supporting our underwriters in their daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and administrative support to underwriters, including capturing risks in our systems and assisting with contract document creation and verification.
  • Offer support in e-filing risk information and contract information, as well as managing paper files.
  • Collaborate with Reinsurance Accounting and Reinsurance Controlling to ensure seamless underwriting processes.
  • Identify risk-affected locations and link exposure and losses with Claims.
  • Assist with policy renewals and create performance summaries from various sources.
  • Support data quality management in source systems in collaboration with Corporate Underwriting and/or Reinsurance Controlling.
  • Collaborate and substitute within the global Underwriting Assistant network framework of Munich Re.

Requirements

  • Apprenticeship in insurance and/or finance, or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).
  • Several years of experience in insurance/reinsurance, preferably in property or casualty.
  • Detailed knowledge of technical principles of facultative/direct underwriting, including facilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent command of German and English.
  • Strong team player with personal integrity and highly developed soft skills, especially strong communication, networking, and intercultural skills.
  • Analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and innovate.
