We are seeking a skilled Gas and Water Installation Specialist to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for performing skilled repairs and maintenance work on new or existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Performs skilled repairs and maintenance work on new or existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment, including sewage, water, and gas distribution systems and water closets, tubs, and showers.
- Works from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and layout the routing, placement, slant, slope, fall, and proper operation of systems and equipment.
- Removes, cleans, replaces, packs, and seals items such as valves, pipes, elbows, drains, sinks, and faucets.
- Repairs basins, baths, and toilets.
- Unplugs clogged drains.
- Performs soldering and welding work.
- Uses the tools of the trade.
- Performs electrical and carpentry work at the semi-skilled level.
- Drives military vehicles in the performance of official duties.
- Fills out trip tickets and performs driver's maintenance.
- Completed vocational training of at least 30 months in the appropriate trade.
- 5 years of specialized experience.
- Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent.
- 8 years of specialized experience of which 3 years must have been performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level.
- Valid driver's license class B and ability to obtain/maintain a military motor vehicle operator's license.
- English language proficiency level A1 and German language proficiency level B2.
- 30 days of annual leave.
- 36 days of annual leave for severely handicapped employees.
