Senior System Engineer for eVTOL Aviation

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior System Engineer to join our team at Volocopter GmbH. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development of complex systems and the coordination of various teams and systems to ensure successful certification of the pilot control input concept of our eVTOL aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with requirements management at flight control level with a focus on pilot controls, including functional, safety, regulatory, environmental, human factors, and performance requirements.
- Provide system-level expertise for coordination and alignment with various internal departments, flight testing, and certification authorities.
- Support with the generation of tests, including safety, drawings, and design specifications.
- Coordinate and manage an external supplier.
Requirements
- Engineering degree (MSc or higher), preferably in aerospace engineering.
- At least 6 years of professional experience in systems engineering for complex systems, ideally aviation-related and in flight control system and pilot controls.
- Knowledge of aviation standards and guidelines (DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254 in line with the ARP4754A, ARP4761).
- Knowledge of certification processes (Part 21) and requirements under EASA.
- Highly skilled and effective in technical writing and communicating with others.
- You have worked in V-Cycle and agile/scrum environments and have an awareness of the methodologies and used tools (Jira, SAFe).
- Experience with systems engineering tools (DOORS, SysML, etc.).
- Ideally theoretical knowledge about flight testing, flight physics, or electrical systems.
- A structured way of working and a high sense of reliability and accountability.
