About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead Engineering to join our Financial Services team at METRO Markets GmbH. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in managing a team of talented software engineers, overseeing the delivery of robust financial solutions, and ensuring high standards of quality, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team of software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Technical Excellence: Ensure the team delivers high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions by guiding the architecture and design of systems.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Work closely with product managers, stakeholders, and other engineering teams to define technical roadmaps, plan and prioritize work, and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data science, finance, and operations, to ensure the seamless integration of financial services across the organization.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and opportunities.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of payment or financial services systems.
  • Proficiency in PHP, Symfony or Laravel, React/Angular is a plus.
  • Experience working with GCP (or other cloud platforms).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience leading teams using agile frameworks.
