IT Infrastructure Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead for IT Operations to join our team at eppdata GmbH. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets the needs of our business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the IT infrastructure team with a hands-on approach
- Responsibility for our IT infrastructure, IT service desk, and infrastructure-related IT services
- Server and client administration, including Linux, Windows, and Mac
- Network appliance configuration and management, including Firewall, VPN, Proxy, and IDS/IPS
- Container-based operations management, with a focus on Docker
- DevOps tasks, including Continuous Integration and Delivery
- Introducing advanced automation tools and techniques into the company
- Preparing cloud-based operation possibilities
- Implementing and maintaining high information security and compliance requirements
Requirements
- At least 5 years of related professional experience in an IT discipline
- A completed apprenticeship as an IT specialist, a degree in computer science, or comparable experience
- Experience with Linux, networking, and automation tools and techniques, such as Ansible
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms, especially Proxmox
- Knowledge of object data stores, such as S3 and MinIO
- Ability to lead a team in an agile way, preferably using Scrum
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Confident in speaking and writing English, comparable to B2 or above
Nice to Have
- Experience in a technical lead role
- Experience in cloud environments, especially AWS
- Experience with virtualized infrastructure, especially Terraform
- Experience with information security and data privacy
- Experience with logging and monitoring solutions
- Experience with programming, especially Python
- Good understanding of networking
